Senate Garage Wedding, Kingston, NY | Julia & Anthony

Their Wedding:
Senate Garage, Kingston, NY

Julia & Anthony tied the knot at the historic and industrial venue, Senate Garage in Kingston, NY and it was the most perfect day. Way back when Julia first reached out to me, she told me about her vision for their wedding day, and it involved lots of greenery, deep colors, gold accents and lots of florals to go with the brick of the venue. Her vision came to life in the most beautiful way. All the gorgeous colors of their day were rich and vibrant, making for a perfect Fall palette at this super unique venue!

My favorite special detail that Julia included was that she pinned her grandmothers’ rings to her bouquet. The gorgeous gold rings were such a beautiful and sentimental touch! I loved that!

From start to finish, Julia and Anthony’s day was incredible! We had so much portrait time to explore around the super cool area surrounding the venue! We took portraits by the historic Senate House, the most magical ivy wall, the fun record store next door (Rhino Records), and colorful mural wall, all within a block or two radius! Although it started to drizzle right before their outdoor ceremony began, the rain held off and the sun came out just in time, and even gave us a faint little rainbow during the ceremony! And of course everyone danced the night away to the music of their talented band, and topped it off with the sweetest ending: a gorgeous cake, Grateful Dead themed cookies, and jars of Julia and Anthony’s favorite candies!

Julia & Anthony’s wedding day was the best celebration of their love! Before we dive into all the pretty photos, let me tell you a little more about these two and their story!

Their Love Story

Julia and Anthony first met during their sophomore year of college. They both transferred to the Marist College and ended up becoming friends with the same group of people. Julia was hesitant to transfer to a new school and find a boyfriend right away, but Anthony was persistent for a whole year until she finally realized he was the one for her! They went on their first date during summer break. Anthony picked up Julia from her Mom’s house and went to go see the new Star Trek movie. (It took a few years for, but eventually Julia admitted she had no idea what was going on the entire movie. Haha!)

You’ve gotta hear how Anthony popped the question! Julia told me, “For weeks, my Mom kept telling me that Anthony and I should/have to come home a random weekend in April to celebrate Passover. The real day my sister was away so we needed to do it again when she came home. I was not happy because we never really do anything for it and I didn’t understand why it was such a big deal to do it again just because Olivia decided to go to Miami the first time. So, that morning Anthony and I were getting ready in our apartment in Hoboken, and I just so happened to do my hair and actually get dressed. We did our usual drive where I fall asleep and Anthony gets stuck driving with no one to talk to. The whole drive, my mom kept calling/texting to remind us that we needed to stop at her best friend’s new restaurant down at the water in my town to pick something up she had made for us for dinner. We get down to the landing and while we’re waiting, Anthony was telling me a story about his Grandpa and West Point which happens to be directly across the river. He suggested while we wait to go for a walk closer to the river. Me, being difficult, I told him I rather wait in the car since she was only going to be a few more minutes. He finally persuaded me to get out of the car so I could take a picture of him in front of West Point for his Grandpa. After I told him that was silly/embarrassing since people were around, I finally agreed. One minute I was trying to be super fast snapping a few pictures of him on my phone and next thing I knew he was down on one knee. I was completely shocked and not expecting it at all!!!! Through my tears, he told me my Mom had surprised me and there was a photographer hiding taking pictures while it all happened. After taking it all in we headed to my parents where there was a surprise party of our family and a few of our closest friends. I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything better and it was perfect.”

When I asked Julia and Anthony to share one thing that they love about each other, Julia said she loves “How selfless he is!” And Anthony said, “I love how much of a genuine and good person she is.” These two couldn’t be more perfect for each other. 🙂
