Battello, Jersey City, NJ Wedding | Rachel & Brian

Their Wedding:
Battello, Jersey City, NJ

Rachel & Brian’s wedding day at Battello in Jersey City, NJ was simply an unforgettable day. Battello is such a unique venue with an amazing skyline view, right on the water! And it was the perfect place for these two to tie the knot. Rachel & Brian’s fun-loving spirits, and down-for-anything attitude made this day a BLAST. 🙂 I just love these two. And as an added bonus, getting to work alongside a good friend and super talented florist, Kerry Patel, was so fun. Her floral design is out of this world! I’m so obsessed with everything she created for this day!

First looks are always one of my favorite parts of any wedding day. And Rachel & Brian’s day definitely didn’t disappoint. The sweet, emotional moment was so perfect. And having their first look before the ceremony, allowed us to get so many bride & groom portraits in different spots around Jersey City. Their ceremony was made extra special by the personal vows they exchanged that were so beautifully written and captured their hearts, and love for each other perfectly. Probably the most memorable was their adorable pups Nanuq and Luna walking themselves down the aisle!!! It was so stinkin cute! And of course they had to give Nanuq and Luna another shout out at the reception by naming their signature drinks after their pups. 🙂 To top it all off, the night wrapped up with a cookie and milk bar! Are you kidding me?! Sweetest ending EVER! Just wait til you see all these photos!

But first, I gotta tell you more about Rachel and Brian, and their story!

Their Love Story

Rachel and Brian met through a series of happenstance. After living in the same building for years and finally connecting, their relationship flourished. I asked a Rachel to share their engagement story and she told it like this, “Brian was being super suspicious for about two weeks. I used to have my thumbprint in his phone but for some reason, he took it out. In addition, my mom wouldn’t let me on her phone or iPad either. Then we went on a family vacation with my parents and sister. In the airport, he wouldn’t check his carry when asked by the airport. I was confused all we had in that bag were shoes. I had traveled for work a lot so i suggested he said he had a high-value item in the bag. When he did that my mom was very confused giving him looks and I look. So we were able to get on the plane with the bag. Fast forward a few days and we had been going to grab a drink before dinner. He suggested we go somewhere else to grab a cocktail beforehand but told me to get ready three hours beforehand. I started getting ready but was dancing around my room singing and doing my hair (obviously moving too slowly). Little did I know we were going to get engaged. I finally finished getting ready. We made it to the water and then Brian dropped to his knee and quickly asked me to marry him. He stumbled over his words but it was the cutest thing. He had arranged for my sister to loiter nearby to take a photo for us.” Brian, you crushed it. Such a special proposal!
