The Rockleigh, NJ Wedding | Caitlin & Chris

Their Wedding Day:
The Rockleigh, NJ

Caitlin & Chris are two of the most joyful people, and their wedding day at the Rockleigh was FILLED with smiles and laughter. Everything about their day was so much fun and perfectly ‘them.’ From the vibrant, colorful florals, to the SUPER fun band, Amish Outlaws, who played at the reception, and of course their sweet pup Mara making an appearance with a flower crown and all…you couldn’t ask for a more incredible day! I love these two so much and it was such an honor to be a part of their day!

The story that they share is also an incredible one :). I just have to tell you about how they got together!

Their Love Story

Caitlin and Chris lived in the same county, and essentially grew up not all that far apart. However, for the majority of their lives they lived in completely parallel worlds. That is, until it was meant to be! An encounter on eHarmony led to these two connecting at the exactly perfect time! Building a great relationship online, these two eventually had their first in person date of dinner and a movie! Chris loves to tell the story of Caitlin ordering a Miller Lite on their first date, and the waitress asking how to make it! Haha! After that, the rest was history!

I asked Caitlin to tell me more about their proposal- and it was such an amazing story. Caitlin told me, “Chris is the most thoughtful, kind, and generous person on the planet. We had discussed marriage two months into our relationship (thank you, craft beer for your liquid courage) but I had no idea when he would ask! The weekend after my 32nd birthday, Chris planned a weekend full of surprises! We traveled up to Cold Spring, NY and had an amazing dinner on the water at the Hudson House. That night, we stayed at the Thayer Hotel at West Point which was stunning! The next day, we toured Boscobel, and then onto The Storm King Art Center. I don’t remember how long ago it was, but one night while binge-watching “Master of None” on Netflix, the protagonist goes on a date to Storm King. I immediately popped up, paused, and shared how I always saw the art installations driving up to college, and always wanted to go! Well he remembered, because while on our own date there, once we were away from the crowd, he told me he had to tie his shoe. He wasn’t getting up. I looked down, and there he was on one knee, with a little box! I immediately started hugging him, crying, yelling “OH MY GOD IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?!” for about 15 mins. I finally let him get up, and he said “You know there’s a ring, right?” and I glanced at it through my happy tears, and continued hugging and blubbering. I was crying so much I thought people were going to think he broke up with me! After calling everyone we knew, trying to capture the best selfie we could, we headed to my parents house. Waiting for us were our immediate family, and our best friends. It was a dream!” I can’t imagine a more perfect scene with surprise, love, and family! Chris totally aced this one. 🙂

I asked Caitlin and Chris if they would share with me one thing they love about each other. Caitlin says that she loves that Chris is “the most caring, generous and thoughtful person she’s ever met”. Chris says he loves how Caitlin “always sees the best in people”.
