Eagle Oaks Country Club Wedding | Caitlin & Chris

Their Wedding Day:
Eagle Oaks Country Club

Caitlin & Chris’s wedding day was quite literally a FAIRYTALE. I mean, can you get any closer to royalty vibes than these two – Caitlin with her jaw-dropping head piece, and Chris with his perfect white tux?! I’m obsessed with this sweet couple and their wedding day look!

These two tied the knot at St. Catharine’s Church in Spring Lake, and then danced the night away at their reception at Eagle Oaks Country Club in Farmingdale, NJ. You couldn’t have custom-ordered a more perfect wedding day. I loved that Caitlin (and her super sweet twin sister, Christina) made time in the morning for some photos with their family dog, Buddy, who is an adorable fluff! He wore a bow tie and all – it was perfect. If you know me, you know furbabies being involved in a wedding day is my FAVORITE. My other favorite is having lots of portrait time! And Caitlin & Chris’s wedding day had both! Following their beautiful ceremony, we took photos across the street at the picturesque Divine Park in Spring Lake! Then we made our way to the beach for some of my favorite photos on the dreamy shore of Spring Lake Beach. We wrapped up portraits JUST in time before it started to rain, and then made our way to their reception venue, Eagle Oaks Country Club. The rain stopped by the time we got to the venue, so we were able to go out for some more portraits by the most stunning rhododendron bush, and forest-surrounded field. Talk about a photographer dream come true!!!

Every bit of this wedding day was pure magic and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you! But first, let me tell you a little more about this incredible couple!

Their Love Story

Caitlin & Chris grew up in the same town, went to middle school and high school together. They ran in similar friend groups and were friendly with each other, but didn’t start dating until after college. The night before high school graduation, Chris went to a party at Caitlin’s parent’s house, and Caitlin mistakenly accused Chris of setting fireworks off in her basement that night. As she tells it, “The fireworks definitely happened, but Chris didn’t do it – but I had already made a scene and kicked him out of the party! He won’t ever let me live it down!” Such a funny story and memory!

After college they both ended up commuting from Wall to NYC together for their first real jobs in 2011. Caitlin thought Chris had grown up a lot and told a mutual friend that she thought he was cute and asked him to share her number with Chris! Caitlin says, “He did, but Chris didn’t use it, but proceeded to stalk my Facebook page everyday! When he got his first apartment in Belmar in 2013, I showed up to his apartment warming party with some girlfriends (uninvited) and we’ve been inseparable since. He was the host with the most the second I walked in his door, and even kissed me that night! For the last few years we have been living in Hoboken/New York City for our jobs, both based in the city, until recently moving to Venice Beach, CA for Chris’s newest job opportunity.”

Chris proposed to Caitlin in Liberty State Park with the help of her identical twin sister and their families last April. As Caitlin tells it, “It was the most random, 80 degree, sunny day after a million recent snow storms. He threw me off for some time. I was told back in January that there would be an event we needed to take the ferry out of Liberty State Park to, so when April arrived I didn’t think twice about it. He led me into the train station area that had been roped off, to see a photographer taking our picture and my sister ready to take my purse. After a lot of ugly crying – we walked down this corridor towards the skyline and he got down on one knee with both of our families there watching. He had friends and family waiting for us at a local venue where we celebrated all night!” It doesn’t get any more perfect than that!

When I asked these two what they love about each other, Chris said, “I admire Caitlin’s strength and clarity of thought. She’s my best friend and the most fun person I know.” Caitlin said, “I love Chris’s balance between being fun and business-minded. I can trust him to plan a whole European itinerary (down to the hour) that exceeds all expectations, but he is still so much fun and super goofy.” Caitlin and Chris are such a perfect match for each other.

Can’t get enough of these two!? Me either. : ) We explored Deep Cut Gardens & Asbury Park for some pretty amazing engagement photos back in December! Check out their engagement blog here.
