Oh my gooooodness, Lisa and Matt’s wedding day could not have been more perfect! We started off the morning in a hotel that overlooked the NYC skyline. If it weren’t for the boats moving through the water, it was as picturesque as a painting! Lisa told me that she needed a hotel room with a view like this one because looking out on the water is something that has always been able to keep her calm and relaxed! The entire room was in tears as Lisa opened her gift from Matt – a stunning pair of Louboutin heels! It was such a special emotional moment when she opened his gift because she said Matt had always told her he would buy these heels for her one day. No better day than their wedding day for such a cool gift! Equally as sweet and emotional was Matt opening his gift from Lisa before they tied the knot!
Portrait time was at Maritime Parc, which overlooks the most perfect view of the NYC skyline! This gorgeous backdrop was the perfect compliment to an even more incredible couple and bridal party! Even when it started to rain, these two were full of so much joy and excitement that they just had the absolute best time with their portraits! Plus, cute bubble umbrella photos are always a bright side to a rainy day!
Their wedding reception was so beautifully decorated with a simple elegance. The neutral florals, lots of candles, and clean open space made for an amazing reception set up! This crowd LOVED to party, and we even got to join in on the dancing toward the end of the night (seriously, we stayed on the dance floor until the last song haha)! Matt changed into these awesome sneakers at the reception with ”Lisa and Matt” printed on the inside! It was such a fun way for the groom to show off his style!! It just so happened that the bouquet and garter toss both landed in the hands of Matt’s brother and his girlfriend *wink wink*, and I absolutely loved how the MC from Love of Music Entertainment had his girlfriend put the garter on his brother! So funny to watch them change up such a wild tradition!
Lisa and Matt met in a broadcasting class at Montclair State University about 8 years ago! They have always remained friends and didn’t start dating until 4 years into their friendship. Lisa’s best friend and maid of honor, Laura, always rooted for them and said that they would end up together! So, she naturally was there when they went on their first date! They have been together ever since and even moved in together less than a year into their relationship! They knew it was meant to be! <3
Their proposal story is sooo sweet! Lisa says, “I am typically the planner at home since I work in events but Matthew did a fantastic job when it came to my proposal. He thought through every single detail and did an amazing job! He got my mom, Laura and his family involved and they set up a picnic in a park where we live. Matt and I had planned to go for a run, and little did I know that when we reached the picnic blanket that would be where he popped the question! He also did an amazing job picking out the ring, I never once told him what I wanted (I don’t even think I knew) and I am in love with what he chose.” GO MATT! How perfect is that?! I met Matt in college during my first ever photography job taking photos for intramural sports! I was so excited when Lisa reached out to me about their wedding, and I’m so grateful for these two and their friendship! They’re such sweet souls who deserve the absolute world!
