Their Session: In Home & Prospect Park, Brooklyn

Lauren & Jordan’s Brooklyn engagement session was such a blast! I love it when couples choose a meaningful location for their session! Lauren and Jordan live in Brooklyn, so they wanted to take photos around their stomping grounds, which included their beautiful apartment and surrounding streets, as well as Prospect Park! On their date nights, if they’re not eating out at a local favorite restaurant, they like to have picnics in Prospect Park and listen to the free live music shows in the park. Getting to explore a little piece of the neighborhood they love was awesome! Not to mention Lauren & Jordan also included their puppy, Theo, in their session, which was totally a highlight! 🙂 It always makes me so happy when pups get to be a part of the session! Before we dive into all the photos, let me tell you about their love story!

Their Love Story

Lauren & Jordan have such a cute story. 🙂 Lauren told me, “We met at work! We both were very early employees at a start up where we both actually still work. Our romance formed over mostly work related things in the beginning and then we started dating a few months after I started at the company. We tried to keep our relationship on the down low, but everyone at work likes to joke that they knew for months and we were terrible at keeping a secret. Now, we’re the token office couple and we get “shouted out” (aka slightly roasted) every year at our office holiday party. Needless to say our coworkers were almost as excited as our family and friends about our engagement :)”

Speaking of…you gotta hear how Jordan proposed! As Lauren tells it, “We got engaged in May and Jordan sent me flowers to work that day. He had been traveling all week and he never sends flowers to work so I was a little suspicious. When I got home there was a picnic set up in our living room. Every year we go to the Newport Folk Festival and so he had our camp chairs set up with some snacks. He said that I probably would have killed him if he had waited til Newport (which is in July) to propose haha, so he brought a little bit of Newport to us. He also had some charcuterie out because I always say that all I need the rest of my life is a charcuterie board- it’s what I’d take to desert island. And he said all he needs the rest of his life is me 🙂 We drove out to Sag Harbor for the night and had dinner and stayed at a cute hotel and then spent the weekend visiting family. It was so nice!!”
