Scotland Run Country Club Summer Wedding, NJ | Melissa & Chris

OKAY OKAY slow your scroll! THIS wedding day was legit UNREAL. Melissa and Chris know how to plan a gorgeous, heartfelt, memorable event, and I am so thankful I was the one they chose to document all of the perfect moments and details! Everything was absolutely beautiful from the second we arrived to the time we hugged goodbye! Melissa’s getting ready location was such a dream! It had a rope swing, horses next door, and the adorable blue room with a perfect bed to bounce on! All of Melissa’s carefully curated details added so much to the day – her beautiful velvet ring box, perfume bottle, and stunning heels made styling so much fun! Oh, and of course, I can’t speak highly enough about her sweet bridesmaids! They were so much fun all day and up for anything – I seriously LOVED them all!

Melissa and Chris got married at Scotland Run in South Jersey (my homeland woohoo!!) and it was such a perfect space for their day. The incredible florist, Jennifer Designs Events, created stunning bouquets and a lush, textured, overflowing ceremony arch covered in gorgeous florals. I loved that they chose to have an outdoor ceremony! Melissa’s friend hand drew the sign that welcomed guests into the ceremony with chalk calligraphy and drawings, which was another awesome personal touch to this day!

Melissa and Chris’s sunset portraits made my life complete!!! We found an amazing field of tall grass that caught the warmth of the sun as it was setting and it was pure magic. Melissa and Chris were up for anything including walking through the tall grass, dancing in it, and doing some lifts! From the moment they saw each other at their first look to the emotional ceremony to the sunset portraits and reception dancing, you could just feel how much love these two have for one another!

Want to know how it all began?! These two met through a mutual friend while at a bar one summer night. It was completely unexpected, but they instantly clicked and have been inseparable ever since. They started dating on Melissa’s birthday in 2014, so for her birthday in 2017, they went for a walk in a downtown area like they usually do after dinners! She says, “We had already celebrated my birthday the weekend before because it was on a Wednesday so I really wasn’t expecting anything from him. But this time he asked if I wanted to sit down in this little garden area, he pulled out my birthday card, which had a long beautiful letter that he read to me. At the end, he asked me to be his wife. It was really nice that there was no one else in the park at that time so we got to enjoy that special moment together by ourselves.” And they kept June as the most special month by getting married on this perfect June summer day!

Melissa & Chris are seriously THE sweetest couple ever.  They’re so perfect for each other, and just radiate so much kindness and love. They always felt like so much more than clients, and I am so grateful to consider them to be friends! It’s been so special to document this exciting season for them, and I wish these two lovebirds nothing but the absolute best in life together! Thank you both for being so incredible, I love you! <3
