Their Session:
Silver Lake Park & Verrazzano Bridge

​Krista & Mathew live together on Staten Island so it was only fitting that they chose one of their favorite parks, Silver Lake Park, and Krista’s favorite bridge, the Verrazzano, as locations for their engagement session! I love when couples choose unique locations that are special to them for their sessions! I had so much fun exploring these new places with this sweet couple! I’m pretty sure the view we captured of the Verrazzano Bridge was something out of a dream! And not to mention we got lucky with some cherry blossoms in Silver Lake Park too!! Every bit of this session was incredible!!

Their Love Story

The day that Krista & Mathew met, Mathew was being recruited for the college swim team Krista was on. He took a trip up to the school, and the swim team had to meet him and try to convince him to come to their school! And it’s a good thing he did! 😉 Krista & Mathew were friends for a year before they started dating, and have been together ever since.

Their proposal is a special one. 🙂 Krista told me, “Four years ago, my brother got married on New Year’s Eve. This started our tradition of traveling for spending NYE with family. We got a group of 12-15 cousins/family friends together and each NYE we travel to a new place to spend the new year. We did Toronto, Charleston, and last year, Nashville. With my 3 brothers, 2 sister in-laws, and 7 cousins all around me on a Nashville rooftop bar, Mathew got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was SHOCKED and so grateful that my family was there with us. We then got to go into our NYE celebrations as an engaged couple and It was the best start to the new year!” How perfect is that?! I may be biased because I also got engaged on NYE, but I think it’s just about the MOST perfect way to close out one year and start the next one! 🙂

When I asked Krista & Mathew what they love about each other, Krista said, “he is always there for me and will do anything for me.” And Mathew said that he loves that, “Krista always does the right thing and supports me/pushes me.” These two couldn’t be any more perfect for each other!

Krista & Mathew, thank you so much for being so fun and so loving! It’s such an honor to be a part of this season in your lives and capture all of these special memories.
