Caroline & Stefan’s wedding day at Sterlingbrook Farm was SO special in every way, right down to the date! These two tied the knot on their 8 year anniversary!!! What a way to celebrate their anniversary! : )
It was so much fun to be back at Sterlingbrook Farms! I absolutely love this venue! With the beautiful barn, gorgeous open fields, and plenty of horses, it’s seriously a photography dream! Caroline and Stefan are two of THE sweetest, kindest people you’ll ever meet, and it was so much fun spending the day celebrating them and their love story!
Their Love Story
Caroline & Stefan met when Caroline was fifteen years old. She was hanging out with a friend when she got a text that a friend of theirs who had just gotten his license was in the neighborhood and wanted to stop by. When he showed up he was with a couple of friends (Stefan included) and they all ended up hanging out on Caroline’s porch and talking for a while!
Caroline told me it was about a year later before they went on their first date! “We had been texting back and forth and hanging out as friends for a while before he asked me to dinner. He picked me up, and we both ended up wearing red shirts that night! We continued on and went to a great restaurant near the beach and had a great night. He had to drop me off not too long after – I was only 16 and had curfew!”
“…We finished high school (Wilmington, NC) , went off to college together (Boone, NC), moved to Austin, Texas after I accepted a job there, and we have now been living in Far Hills, NJ for the past year. We have a 4 year old German Shepherd named, Stella!”
Their typical date nights now look a lot like cooking together, sharing a bottle of wine, and spending time with their sweet Stella! Caroline says, “The night usually ends with me passing out 10 minutes into whatever show/movie I begged to watch. 🤷🏼♀️”
Want to hear how Stefan proposed!? It’s the sweetest story! As Caroline tells it, ” It was the Saturday after thanksgiving. My mom was still in town from Wilmington, NC and my older brothers were coming over for what I thought was a normal holiday get together. Stefan suggested we “wait” for them in a special, “fancy furniture only” type of room in the front of the house, which struck me as odd because we never wait for my brothers- they just come on in, and we never hung out or spent time in that room! Anyway- I had asked him to get our dog’s name tag replaced a while ago because it had our old address, and while we were “waiting”, he called her downstairs and on her new tag it said “will you marry me” and I turned around and he was on one knee! He also hid cameras around the room. Ha. When we got out of that room, my brothers were already there and there was a party waiting for us. It was great!” A+ all around Stefan! Isn’t that so adorable? Want to know an extra fun fact – that fancy room where Stefan proposed to Caroline, is also where these two shared their first look on their wedding day!!!
When I asked these two to share one thing they love about each other, Caroline said, “Stefan is so kind. He goes out of his way to lend a helping hand and brightens people’s days with his thoughtfulness.” And Stefan said, “I love how much she cares about other people and her trustworthiness.”

Caroline & Stefan, thank you SO much for having me as a part of your day, and for being SO wonderful. You two are such a joy and I’m so honored to capture these sweet memories of your 8 year anniversary!! 😉 Wishing you guys the most beautiful marriage and so many more anniversaries to come!
