Their Session: Barnegat Lighthouse Engagement

Cesare and Kyle’s Barnegat Lighthouse engagement session was so incredibly special. I love it when my couples choose a session location that is meaningful to them. Barnegat Lighthouse plays a role in their story which made it extra sweet to take their engagement photos there! When you get to the part about their proposal, you’ll see what I mean! 🙂 Before I start sharing my many favorite photos, I first want to share with you, more of Cesare & Kyle’s love story!

Their Love Story

When I asked Cesare and Kyle to share with me one thing they love about each other, Cesare said, “Patience for sure!!! I worry ALOT and Kyle is so patient with me! I admire his patience with everything! He is the best part of me!” Kyle said, “Her smile and her very big heart! She is an incredible teacher and puts everyone before herself!”

Cesare and Kyle met in Bloomsburg, PA when they were neighbors during the summer session of college in 2012. But it wasn’t until 2015 that they started dating. As Cesare tells it, “I was a lot more interested in Kyle than he was in me at first. We spent a lot of time hanging together but never making it official so when it became official it was like the talk of our small town college town! LOL 🙂 I am from Bucks County, PA and Kyle is from Central Jersey and we did long distance for 3 years after we graduated. Then 2 years ago we moved in together and now rent a house together! This summer we got our first dog together- her name is Saylor, she’s a mini-golden doodle!”

The Proposal

I love a good proposal story, and Cesare & Kyle’s is such a special one! Cesare told me, “Our proposal was 2 days after Christmas this past year! We were taking our dog for a walk at the Lighthouse in LBI, it is one of the first places Kyle took me when I started coming down to his house 7 years ago. I love it because that’s where the ocean meets the bay (very corny, but I love it). My mom recently passed away of cancer, so it was very hard getting engaged only a month after her passing. But Kyle and our families had this wonderful plan and it has really helped me.” I love how thoughtful Kyle was in planning such a meaningful proposal for Cesare and bringing their families together.

When we planned Cesare and Kyle’s engagement session, we ended up having to reschedule the date. It just so happened that the new session date we were moving to was Cesare’s parents’ wedding anniversary. Cesare told me it felt like a sign, and a way for her mom to be a part of their session. I love that their engagement session date held that extra meaning. And it ended up being the most picture perfect day with beautiful weather and a golden sunset! <3
