Their Wedding Day: Red Maple Vineyard Wedding

Brittany and Craig’s Red Maple Vineyard wedding was the most perfect day, despite any of the hurdles thrown their way. Brittany and Craig had to postpone their wedding because of COVID but still tied the knot in a minimony last August! (Check out part one of their wedding celebrations, their NYC rooftop minimony, here!) After waiting so long for this day, it could have been super disappointing that the weather forecast wasn’t cooperating. But throughout the rain, Brittany and Craig let nothing hamper their joy. They finally got to celebrate their marriage with their friends and family! The excitement and love for each other was the dominating feeling for the whole day. Rain or shine! AND we even caught a break in the weather to be able to take photos by the iconic giant Red Maple Vineyard tree!

I could probably write a full essay on my favorite parts of Brittany and Craig’s day. But if I had to narrow it down, I would have to say that including their pup Sunny was DEFINITELY a highlight! Sunny wore a tuxedo and brought his champagne toy, and did a perfect job walking down the aisle! It always makes my day when furbabies get to be a part of a wedding! Just wait til you see the portraits we took with Sunny!!

I also loved the invitation suite that Brittany designed herself!!!! And the way they acknowledged and celebrated both part 1 and part 2 of their wedding celebrations! Like their wedding bands & custom ring dish engraved with both of their wedding dates! I also loved how they opened letters they wrote to each other last August at their minimony, and that they re-read their vows from their original ceremony. It was so special to see everything come together full circle!

Before we dive into allllll my faves from their day, you have to read a little about their love story! It’s a good one! 😉

Their Love Story

When I asked Brittany & Craig to share with me one thing they love about each other, Craig said, “I love how passionate she is about causes and helping others. She has supported THON at Penn State for years (which raises money for childhood cancer care) and gets very very into it. Seeing her promote good causes inspires me to help out too.” Brittany said, “I love how he is my biggest cheerleader! He is always there to support me whether it is through tough times, running the NYC marathon, or one of my crazy endeavors.” And they both love goofing off and being silly together. 🙂

How They Met

Want to hear how these two first met? Brittany told me, “We matched on Hinge and went on our first date on December 4, 2014. It was a Tuesday and that day I was working on the UWS and Craig was in Tribeca. He texted me to meet him at the loudest, least romantic sports bar across the street from Madison Square Garden. His logic was it was half way in between both of us! Even though I almost couldn’t find him in the crowded bar, we ended up hitting it off fast, and ended up going on a bar crawl (stopping in the middle for quesadillas at Caliente Cab). The rest was history!”

The Proposal

Are you ready for this proposal story? Brittany gave me all the details. She said, “Telling the story of the night we got engaged never gets old 🙂 Craig literally planned the most amazing night ever and it makes me so happy to relive when I tell new people! Craig proposed on December 4, 2018 (4 year anniversary of our first date). We live on 73rd Street in Manhattan between 2nd and 3rd. During the holiday season, our tree lined block is covered in lights (which was a huge selling point when we were apartment shopping – I fell in love with the lights!). December 4th was actually a Tuesday so I was at work and had a very big feeling it was coming…We aren’t great at keeping secrets from each other. I could sense how stressed he was in the weeks leading up to this!”

“Craig told me he made dinner plans for our anniversary, but wanted to do drinks in our apartment promptly at 6:30pm. As I am walking home from work, I realize on the Find My Friends app that he was actually in our apartment and not at work like he said he was! (He purposely didn’t turn it off because he wanted to track me!) My entire walk home, I knew I was about to walk into something, but had no idea what to expect.”

“I come upstairs and our entire apartment is filled with photos hanging on the walls with clothes pins in chronological order of the past 4 years of our relationship. There are rose petals and candles everywhere! There was a sign on our kitchen table that said ‘Call me when you’re ready’. I called him to tell him “I’m ready”. I came downstairs and Craig was standing in the middle of our street, got down on one knee, and I said yes!!”

“Turns out he illegally blocked our street with barricades for the 10 minutes with the help of his brothers! There was also a photographer in the street with us who took photos and came upstairs with us after as we popped champagne. We then went to a nearby bar where we went early on in our relationship and love where our families and closest friends were there to celebrate – all on a casual Tuesday night!! It was really the BEST night ever and was the most thoughtful and amazing proposal I could have ever dreamed of.”

To the “Not-So-Newlyweds”

Brittany & Craig, thank you from the bottom of my heart for having me capture all the special memories of your wedding (part 1 & 2!!!). You two are such a joy, and I’m so honored to have been able to photograph your love. I adore you guys (and Sunny!!!!) and couldn’t be more grateful for your friendship. Sending you three the biggest hug and all my love! xoxo
